What does Glimmer need?

Does Glimmer use generative AI?
No. Glimmer is an algorithm, not AI. It scores every moment on four things: hype words you say, loud moments, screen events (deaths, wins, boss fights) and how fast you talk. Those scores become a ranking, and the ranking decides which clips go into the video. No generative AI looks at your video or picks, writes or changes anything. The only model is a small speech-to-text program on your PC (Whisper) that types out your words.
How much does Glimmer cost?
Free for 10 hours of analysis, about 3 to 4 streams. After that you need a license: a one-time key for 15 EUR. The free hours need an internet connection when you analyse or export; with a key, Glimmer works offline.
Can I export to Premiere or DaVinci Resolve?
Yes. Besides a finished video, Glimmer saves your edit as a file (XML or EDL) for your own editor, and subtitles as a text file (SRT).
Is my video uploaded?
No. Your video is analysed and edited on your PC and never uploaded. Glimmer only contacts its license server, for the free trial and your key. What it sends.
Which games work?
Any. Presets help for common types, and you can box the death or victory screens of your own game.
Does it work with Twitch and YouTube streams?
Yes, with any video file saved on your PC. Twitch stream markers are supported, and you get subtitles and 9:16 shorts from the same run.
Why does Windows warn about the installer?
Glimmer is not code-signed yet, because a signing certificate costs money. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
Can I use a link instead of a video file?
No. Save the VOD to your PC first.
Do I need an internet connection?
The free trial needs it when you export. With a license key Glimmer works offline, with a short online check at least every 90 days.
Can I move my key to a new PC?
Yes. Remove it from the old PC in Settings, License, then enter it on the new one.
